Friday, March 1st, 2013 -- 8:56 AM
-The Neillsville City Council received a request from a resident at their Tuesday meeting.Linda Montgomery asked to use the gazebo on April 22nd for a Walk Against Child Abuse.
Linda said the purpose of the walk is not to receive donations or money, but to bring to the attention of lawmakers the various kinds of child abuse.
The program is designed to bring attention and hopeful change laws regarding child abuse as many feel they are not strict enough.
The council said that it sounds like a worthwhile cause, but they couldn?t vote on or approve the item at the Tuesday meeting. It will be put on the agenda for the first Tuesday meeting in March.
