Medford Teen Tried as Adult for School Threat

-A Medford teen will be tried as an adult for her alleged involvement with a threat that was made at the Medford High School last week.On Friday of last week, over 72% of the student body in the Medford School District were absent after a threat was discovered in a girls bathroom on Thursday. Parents were told they could keep their children home and the absence would not count against them.
On that Friday, the Medford Police Department did arrest a 17-year-old girl and it was discovered that she had lied about overhearing a threat.
The student will be tried as an adult in Taylor County Court. She has misdemeanor charges of obstructing an officer and bail jumping filed against her.
No court dates have been set yet, but if she is convicted she could spend 18 months in jail.
However, the investigation is still ongoing and more charges could be filed.
