February Clark County Board of Supervisors Meeting, Part 1

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors started their Monday meeting with appointments to various committees and positions in the county.Jake Brunette was appointed to Corporation Counsel for Clark County. However, there were more than a few board members that felt there was a conflict of interest regarding Brunette?s appointment.
Some felt that there were more qualified candidates that had applied for the position and that Brunette was favored because he was living in Clark County.
However, the board explained the hiring process and decided there were no problems and the appointment passed with 22 voting yes and 5 voting no.
Tammy Tom-Steinmetz was appointed Social Services Director with 26 voting yes and without any questions or issues.
A Task Force Committee and a Land Information Council were also approved by the board with minor questions, all of them voting yes.
