Wednesday, February 27th, 2013 -- 12:35 PM
-The Neillsville School Board heard a report from High School Principal Craig Anderson.Mr. Anderson talked about many minor items, including some prep testing for the lower grades, an upcoming letter ceremony, and an in-service day where teachers will talk about 1-on-1 computing and how it can help the students.
Mr. Anderson also mentioned that Business Ed teacher Sue Oberbeck applied for a grant regarding the accounting field. Sue did win the 920 dollar grant and it will be used to demonstrate the career opportunities in the accounting field.
Finally, Mr. Anderson talked about some scheduling dilemmas that have already been noticed for the next school year. He said that some red flags have popped up and that part of the reason behind the scheduling problem could be that Neillsville has one of the shortest school days.
The main goal of the district is to have excellent student achievement and feels that the school day may need to be lengthened to achieve the results they want.
No decision was made as of right now, but it is an idea the district is considering.
