Tuesday, February 26th, 2013 -- 8:18 AM
-All that remains for two Stanley prison inmates that attempted to escape back in 2010 is the final trial for the charges against them.In January of 2010, Eddie Evans, age 59, Jimmy Baldwin, age 34, and Henry Spencer, age 27, had release documents forged to get early releases. Evans and Baldwin did escape, but were caught a few days later. Spencer was caught before he was released.
Spencer was already found guilty and sentenced for his part in the crime. He had an extra year and half added onto the sentence he?s serving for armed robbery.
Evans and Baldwin had a motion hearing on Friday. Both men?s attorneys are trying to have pieces of evidence removed from the trial including evidence that was obtained, they claim, during an illegal search, as well as prior acts and violations they committed before this crime.
Both men?s trial starts in March and is expected to last four days.
