Public Works Items at Neillsville City Council Meeting
Friday, February 15th, 2013 -- 8:38 AM
-The Neillsville Director of Public Works, Dave Flynn, gave a report at the Tuesday City Council meeting.Dave mentioned the on-going equipment maintenance, continuous battle with snow removal, and some other maintenance and replacements made throughout the city.
Dave also mentioned that the city is getting low on the salt/sand mixture it uses on the roads. However, he also said that every city and, even the county, is getting to the critical stage regarding their salt and sand. He also added that they can get more, so it isn?t a major problem.
He also said that the city did receive a letter of noncompliance from the DNR regarding water samples that need to be sent in once a month. Due to the post office?s changing costs, the DNR didn?t receive a water sample within the 30 hour time frame of when it was taken.
The city had to retake the sample and send it again. The sample came back clean and there will be no further repercussions regarding the late sample.
