Trial for Taylor County Man Began Tueday

-The trial for a Taylor County man began on Tuesday for threatening Taylor County Court officials.Patrick Staton was arrested back in April because he had allegedly been making improvised explosive devices and planned to kill a Taylor County judge, district attorney and sheriff's department detective.
The jury was selected in the morning and then the trial got under way. Defense attorney Richard Voss and District Attorney Mark Fuhr discussed several things with Judge Paul Lenz before the jury was brought in.
Items discussed included the bail jumping charges and the defendant?s use of THC.
Several witnesses were called in and testified regarding the case, including a detective with the Taylor County Sheriff?s Department.
The trial will continue today.
