Wood County Man Sentenced for His Involvement in the Death of a Woman's Newborn Child

A Wood County man was sentenced for his involvement in the death of a woman’s newborn child in Wood County Court on Wednesday.
Back in April of 2019, the Marshfield Medical Center notified the authorities about a missing newborn. Marylinn Feher went to the hospital seeking medical attention and staff stated it was evident that Feher had recently had a baby.
The baby was found in a bag in the back of the father’s vehicle. Evidence indicated that the baby had been strangled and had cranial damage. Allen Rice, the father, pleaded guilty to move/hide/bury the corpse of a child.
Another charge was dismissed and read in. Rice was sentenced to 5 years in prison and 3 years of extended supervision. Feher was found guilty of 1st degree intentional homicide. Another charge was dismissed and read in.
She was sentenced to life in prison and will be eligible for extended supervision after 30 years.
