Impact of Clark County Fair, Day 5

Thursday, December 20th, 2012 -- 8:27 AM

-We have more of the statistics and data provided by Interim CNRED Educator of Clark County, Amy Jahnke, at the recent Neillsville City Council Meeting.

So far, the data has shown a wide variety in education level, income, age, and other factors for those that attend the Clark County Fair. We?ve also looked closely at several different categories regarding advertising, group size, most anticipated activity and others.

The data went even further and broke down what Neillsville attendees were looking forward to and what the total percentage of attendees were looking forward to. 52% of all attendees were looking forward to the youth exhibits while 37% of Neillsville residents were looking forward to them.

The next biggest category was animals at 44% of all attendees and 26% of Neillsville attendees at the fair for the animals. An interesting note brought up was that Neillsville residents come more for the tractor pull and demolition derby at 25% and 23% while only 21% and 16% of others at the fair were there for that reason.

The data went more in depth just looking at those at the fair for the demo derby. Some interesting facts: The respondents were evenly split between male and female, over half of them were not married, and over half of them were from Neillsville.

When it came to advertising, the top two categories Neillsville residents used were the newspaper at 25% followed by the radio at 14%. All other fair attendees, however, used the newspaper at 18% followed by simple word of mouth at 17%.
