-Marshfield Rotary Winter Wonderland set an all-time record Saturday, with more than 4,900 food donations. The previous record was 4,251. As we near the mid-point in the annual event, food donations are running about 11 percent ahead of last year.
With Sunday?s winter storm, and the eight inches of snow it brought to the Marshfield area, means that the lights shine even brighter. Ice sculptures have been completed and the snow adds a new dimension to them.
The 7th annual Rotary Winter Wonderland is open daily to the public from 5-9 p.m. through Dec. 31. It?s located at Wildwood Zoo, on the city?s south side. The park is illuminated with more than 1 million L.E.D. lights.
Rotary Winter Wonderland?s mission is to collect food and money to help more than 20 food pantries throughout central Wisconsin.
In the past six years, Rotary Winter Wonderland has collected nearly 250,000 non-perishable food items.
