Granton Man's Clark County Court Appearance
Monday, December 3rd, 2012 -- 8:28 AM
-A Granton man made an initial appearance in Clark County Court on Friday. At the end of September, Terry VandeBerg called the Clark County Sheriff?s Department saying he had found the remnants of a meth lab in an abandoned home he had permission to ?scrap? from.
The items ended up being medical supplies left in the home from the previous owner, but the sheriff?s department suspected that VandeBerg wasn?t telling the truth.
In reality, VandeBerg did not have permission to be on the property and he was intoxicated. He was arrested and has one felony charge of burglary of a building and two counts of misdemeanor theft of moveable property filed against him.
VandeBerg appeared with his attorney John Stichert and District Attorney Darwin Zwieg appeared for the state. The reading of the complaint was waived as well as the time limits for a preliminary hearing.
Judge Jon Counsel set a future court date for January.
