Wisconsin FFA Alumni & Supporters Association Annual Meeting

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) Many FFA Alumni members and their chapters were honored for their level of excellence during the past year at the Wisconsin FFA Alumni & Supporters Association annual meeting in Green Bay.
According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, on Saturday, the organization recognized the Auburndale FFA Alumni with its Outstanding Chapter Award in the small division, with Waupaca and Granton earning top honors for medium and large areas.
National Outstanding Chapter honors were also presented to the Denmark, Stoughton and Weyauwega-Fremont programs. The Darlington FFA Alumni received the Dr. V.O. Martinson Award for having the greatest increase in members this year, and also earned the Ann Martinson Award for the highest increase of life-time members.
The Stoughton FFA Alumni earned the Best Newsletter Award, with Sauk Prairie recognized for having the best website. This year's recipients of Outstanding Achievement Awards were Jeremy Krerowicz of Denmark and Melanie Huchthausen from Stoughton.
Ag instructors Walter Taylor, Oconto Falls; Troy Talford & Sally Ladsten, Sauk Prairie; Daniel Robinson, Lomira; Mariah Markhardt, Oconto Falls; and Kimberly Houser, Wisconsin Heights were recognized for their involvement with local FFA Alumni groups.
And the group honored DeGrand's Family Restaurant of Denmark with the Team Ag Ed-Distinguished Contributor Award. Meanwhile, Nate Zimdars of Ripon was elected as the new president of the association.
He replaces Rudy Kaderly, Juda, who will remain on the board for another year as past-president. Members also elected Terri Wilfert of Mishicot as the new president-elect, and Bobbie Jo Montgomery from Waupaca was chosen as vice president during the convention.
The Wisconsin FFA Alumni is one of the nation's largest state affiliates with over 23,000 members listed on the group's roster.
