-The Loyal School Board had two important meetings Monday evening. The Computer Committee had their first meeting of the year. The committee set a direction and plan for the upcoming years regarding computers and computing devices in the district.
They have many great ideas; however, money tends to put a halt to many of them. Loyal has applied for a grant with CESA 10 and if it goes through, they?d like to put a computing device in the hands of their students.
If not, they will implement a plan over the years to put a device in the hands of some of the student.
In a special school board meeting, the Loyal School District set their tax levy at 1,373,470 dollars which is an increase of .35%. However, the mil rate did go down from 8.0% to 7.9%.
The board also accepted a Liability and Property Insurance Bid from the EMC Company and accepted the snow removal bid from Bugar Trucking.
Finally, District Administrator Cale Jackson presented the new report cards for Loyal. He said the scores were very good and Loyal is in the meets expectations category. However, there is room for improvement.
