John Ross, Clark County Emergency Management Director

-Clark County has found its new Emergency Management Director, John Ross.John has an extensive background, working in the field of emergency management and law enforcement. "Prior to my arrival as Director of Emergency Management in Clark County, I worked for Jackson County. I was the Emergency Management Coordinator and 911 Communications Supervisor since February of 2007. So, I have experience in Emergency Management based on that job. Prior to that, I have 14 years of experience working as a Public Safety Dispatcher and Corrections Officer for Jackson County. I have previously served as a volunteer firefighter so I have some background there as well."
John is glad he was selected for the position of Emergency Management Director in Clark County and is looking forward to the challenges ahead. "It presented an opportunity with some new challenges for me, gave me an opportunity to focus on emergency management activities. The projects that have already been started and I'm able to take over, which I find to be very interesting, and a challenge, but a challenge in a good way. Examples are the storm shelters that are being constructed currently in four locations in the county with some federal grant funds."
John hopes to keep public awareness his top priority in Clark County. "I think one of the themes that will come out of this office and, I think, has been ongoing and I want to continue on is that public awareness, that public education, and that preparedness message.?
