Wisconsin Cheese Goes to Hollywood
Tuesday, October 30th, 2012 -- 10:21 AM
-A Wisconsin cheese made its Hollywood debut in an episode of CSI: New York on Friday.Back in August, a market in Brown Deer, Wisconsin received a call from the Artisan Cheese Gallery in Studio City, California looking for nettle gouda cheese, as supposedly there was a plot line in an upcoming episode of CSI: New York about nettles.
The market was out of that cheese so they called owner and cheese maker Marieke Penterman at Holland's Family Cheese in Thorp.
Marieke said she had exactly 4 wheels left of Burning Nettle Gouda, but they were earmarked for a customer.
So she called the customer, explained the situation, and the customer said, by all means, send the cheese to Hollywood.
The episode aired on Friday, October 26th.
