Elementary Principal's Report at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor gave a report on the Owen-Withee Elementary School at their recent school board meeting.Mr. Batchelor talked about the recent Grandparents Day celebration held on September 21st. He gave a special thanks to Jean Gokey and the committee for putting it together. 286 grandparents came to the elementary to enjoy lunch with their grandchildren.
He also commented on the fact that the October 8th and 10th parent/teacher conferences drew over 90% participation.
Mr. Batchelor also said that Mrs. Julie Plautz, Mrs. Gayle Baehr and Mrs. Julie Wendler attended the School of Recognition ceremony in Madison on Oct. 2 to receive the award for the elementary school.
He also said that Kids Club is up and running after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-5:00 PM.
The elementary Professional Learning Community group is doing a book study on ?Raising the Bar and Closing the Gap,? which is a book on improving student achievement through the use of PLCs and aligning curriculum to the Common Core Standards.
Finally, Mr. Batchelor said that WKCE testing will be held from Oct. 22 ? Nov. 23rd and he sent out a special congratulations to the 2nd grade class for creating the winning cheer for the Owen-Withee Elementary School.
