-The Black River Falls Fire Department responded to a small fire on Tuesday. In the early morning hours on Tuesday, the department received a report about a structure fire at a home on County Hwy X which is located in the Township of Irving.
When the department arrived a tenant living on the lower level of the two story home had most of the fire extinguished.
The department overhauled the outside wall area looking for fire extension and only used about 75 gallons of water.
The department believes the fire may have been caused by electrical switches and wiring inside the wall.
An estimated dollar loss is not known at this time and the home was being rented by two separate families at the time of the fire.
The renters did not have insurance coverage and the American Red Cross was called to assist the families.
The Department was on the fire scene for two hours with 10 firefighters and one person was given medical attention by Black River EMS on the scene but was not transported.
There were no injuries reported during the fire.
