Granton Recieves Grant for Community Library

-The Granton community has received a 500,000 dollar grant to support their new community library.Granton is just one of the 50 other sites in the state that have received a portion of the 4 million dollar 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant.
The funding is dependent on the budget. Granton?s 100,000 dollar grant for the 2012-2013 school year can be renewed up to four years.
The CLC grant also provides adult family member activities that promote family engagements in their children?s education.
According to the Department of Public Instruction, almost ? of students served by CLC grants in 2010 and 2011 significantly improved in mathematics, reading, or both.
These students also attended and participated in school more and had fewer behavioral problems.
