Busy Evening for Neillsville School Board
Wednesday, October 17th, 2012 -- 8:43 AM
-The Neillsville School Board was hard at work Monday evening. The board accepted two donations, one from the optimist club. The club donates new dictionaries to the 3rd grade class and teaches them how to use them and that will be done on American Education week.
The second was from the Knights of Columbus and they donated $258.27 for special needs students.
The board approved an open campus lunch for the Senior class, but only if they have good academic and behavioral standings.
Three out of state trips were approved. The 7th grade will be going to The Festival of Nations in Minnesota in May if they choose to pay the fee associated with the trip. The choir students can apply to go to the Dorian Vocal Festival in Iowa, which the students will fundraise for. Finally, the chorus students will be going to Florida to perform at Universal Studios, Walt Disney World, and Bush Gardens. The students will fundraise for that as well.
Three positions were filled. Kim Butts as a dishwasher, Lori Klieforth as a 7 hour aid, and Angela Meshnick as a Middle School Girls Basketball Coach.
The board also approved the 50 dollar year book price, accepted a bid from Gross Motors for a truck and plow, and looked further into a new boiler and air conditioning system that is well over 40 years old.
