Neillsville Man Killed in Motocycle Accident

Tuesday, October 16th, 2012 -- 8:47 AM

-A Neillsville man was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported crash on Wednesday, October 10th on USH-12 at Allen Creek Road.

Upon arrival, deputies found that a motorcycle had collided with a motor vehicle at this location.

The driver of the motorcycle has been identified as 26 year old Jess Rauk of Neillsville. Rauk was later pronounced dead at the Black River Falls Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle involved has been identified as 25 year old Randi Rupnow of Taylor. Rupnow received no injuries in the crash.

Witness's interviewed by authorities reported that Rauk was traveling well above the posted speed limit prior to the crash. It is believed that Rupnow was making a turn into a private driveway, which had her vehicle cross the lane Rauk was traveling in when the collision occurred.

This matter still remains under investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
