Interesting Items Discussed at Loyal School Board Meeting

-The Loyal School Board went over several interesting items at their recent School Board Meeting.A CESA 10 agent gave a presentation on energy saving measures. The agent said that he would come in and do some research and work with the school to try and save energy. If the measures didn?t work, the school would owe them nothing. However, if the measures did work, the school and CESA 10 would go 50/50 on the savings and that?s how the district would pay them back. No action was taken at this time until the agent comes back next month with a proposal.
Student enrollment was found to be down by 10 students for the year and the board also approved a slight wage increase to staff and teachers.
Another interesting item brought up was the NAT scores. Changes have been made to the scoring system and District Administrator, Cale Jackson, said that parents might be surprised because there student may have been advanced in one subject, but it now considered to be average or lower with the new system.
The board also approved some temporary borrowing, a golf/cheerleader/track club that will be largely founded outside the school by parents, and that the new report cards will now be out on October 22nd.
