Busy Night for Granton School Board

-The Granton School Board approved many items at their meeting earlier this week.The board approved the contracts for the 21st Century Staff. The staff members include Theresa McConkey as a Before and After School Supervisor, Sandy Haselow as an After School Supervisor, Miss Walz as a Library Aide, and Emma Pucker as a Program Director.
Some security upgrades were approved. The upgrades include security cameras near the community library and some door lock replacements.
Air conditioning installation proposal for the community library was accepted as well as a Youth Options Request that came from 5 students.
The Third Friday Count showed that student enrollment has increased by 7 students and Andrea Schultz gave a presentation regarding the Spanish Clubs summer trip to Costa Rica.
The District Vision Statement was approved. The statement reads: ?Granton Schools is attracting new families and serves as a model of student excellence for communities everywhere.?
Finally, the 2012-13 preliminary budget was approved as well as a Memorandum of Understanding between Granton and CESA 10 for the Race to the Top Grant.
