-The Clark County Board of Supervisors passed several resolutions at their recent meeting. The first was a resolution regarding the transportation grant funds. As Neillsville no longer qualifies for the existing funding of the taxi service, but want to keep the operation running, new options were needed.
The Department of Social Services is planning to submit two grant applications to help defray the cost of operation which is expected to be 256,000 dollars.
In the end, the board approved the acceptance of the grant funds between 164,000 and 204,000 dollars to help with the costs and continue to provide the service.
A resolution to support the legislation that will require online retailers to collect and remit Wisconsin sales tax was approved. The board feels this is fair to the brick and mortar businesses in the state.
The board also accepted and is proud to have Clark County play host to the 2014 Alice in Dairyland event.
The board believes it is a great way to showcase the diverse agriculture in the county and how it plays a role in state agriculture.
