Loyal City Council Issues Raze Order
Monday, October 8th, 2012 -- 9:16 AM
-The Loyal City Council has issued a raze order for part of the post office building. The owner of the building has two buildings connected to the post office in Loyal and he has 30 days to tear them down or repair them.
It is unclear as to how the removal, if it comes to that, of the north and west structures could affect the post office.
When a building is razed it?s because the building is considered to be either so old, dilapidated, or out of repair that it?s considered to be unsafe.
The two structures share a wall with the post office, but if they need to be torn down city officials believe it can be done without doing any damage to the post office.
This isn?t the first time there have been problems with the building. The post office was shut down for a brief period of time in 2010 because of a leaking roof, moisture, and mold.
