Area Teachers Recognized During Crystal Apple Awards Celebration

-Two-dozen of the area?s top teachers were recognized, for their contributions to education.The Marshfield Chamber Foundation held its 10th Annual Crystal Apple Awards Celebration, at the Holiday Inn.
24 educators were honored as teachers of distinction, and four were given top honors as the 2012 Crystal Apple Award winners.
They included Karen Bloczynski of Washington Elementary in Marshfield, Grant Elementary 6th grade Math instructor Kristina Vantassel, Auburndale Ag instructor Mark Cournoyer, and Greenwood Elementary 2nd grade teacher Marie Eckdahl.
20 educators were honored last night as Teachers of Distinction.
They were marshfield public school instructors Sherri Bauer, Michele Gorke, Tim Heeg, Bruce Jensema, Judy Nicksic, Pamela Weiss and Ben Will, Columbus Catholic teachers Nancy Baierl, Ann Bohnert, and Christa Hoheisel, Joan Anderson of Immanuel Lutheran School, Deetta Peterson from St. Joseph?s School in Stratford, Spencer teachers Jackie Pickett and Sandy Reckner, Pittsville instructors Jennifer Petersen and Todd Steward, Auburndale third-grade teacher Steve Voss, Greenwood Band and Choir teacher Marixa Lamont and retired Granton teacher Mark Schroeder.
They were among the 260 different teachers who received over 750 nominations for this year?s awards.
