-The Greenwood Facility of the Adult Developmental Services has begun the process to fund a storm shelter. The shelter is expected to cost 126,384 dollars and a ground breaking ceremony was recently held.
The ceremony was attended by Clark County officials, ADS representatives, and building and architect contractors.
A final bid was accepted from Kevin Syth Construction of Greenwood and a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Authority and the state of Wisconsin will help pay for 87% of the grant. The remaining $15,798 dollars will be paid by Clark County.
This is just one of three shelters going up in the area. One is being built in Neillsville at the Parks Place Mobile Home and another in Loyal at the Town and Country Mobile Home Park.
Each one is having the cost paid for in a similar fashion.
