Resolution and Room Tax at the Neillsville City Council Meeting

-At the Neillsville City Council meeting on Tuesday a resolution and two room tax increases were approved.

The resolution is to borrow 300,000 dollars to help pay for the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System for the Water Utility Department, Filter Media for the Water Treatment Plant, and 2 Variable Frequency Drive Pump Motors for the Booster Station.

They will cost 234,366 dollars, 52,550 dollars, and 13,084 dollars. The resolution was approved.

The board also approved a 70% Room Tax for the Tourism Committee. This money will help pay for 1,000 dollar needed for the update to the Historic Walking Tour Brochure, 1,500 dollars needed to continue telephone and wireless internet service to the jail, 900 dollars to replace ATV signs, and 3,000 dollars to pay for the Discover Wisconsin episode.

The Tourism Committee also gave 1,200 dollars to the Jail Museum, did not grant the Public Works request, and gave the Neillsville Chamber of Commerce 2,200 dollars for the Discover Wisconsin Segment.

The board also approved at 30% Room Tax for the Parks and Recreation Board. This money will help pay for a playground structure, which will cost $625.97, at the Listeman Park.

The Parks and Recreation Board also reported on spring and summer projects for 2013 and presented the 2013 proposed budget which will now be presented to the finance committee.
