Wednesday, September 26th, 2012 -- 8:49 AM

-It was a busy Monday night for the Neillsville School Board.

A report was given by Amy Gerhardt, the FFA Advisor, on the Neillsville FFA Chapter?s recognition as a Gold Chapter. The board also approved a 20 cent wage increase for the school?s support staff.

The Neillsville School District is also involved in the Race to the Top Grant which could help them and, several other local districts, win 20 million dollars. The board also approved a capstone project to build a two story garage for a local resident.

Several donations were accepted including 820 dollars from the Memorial Medical Center. The money was accumulated from the reduced price of physicals the MMC gives to Neillsville students involved in sports. 16 boys basketball warm up suits from an anonymous donor were also accepted, and school supplies from the United Way and Memorial Medical Center, the Neillsville Dental Clinic, and Megan, Ella, and Allison King were accepted.

Finally, the board approved the resignation of Pam Stitt, a teaching assistant in the library. And they approved the hiring of Randy Ystad, as a bus driver, Staci Wondra, as an elementary teacher, Krista Hamm, as teaching assistant, and Donald Subke Jr. as a teaching assistant.
