NEW INFO: Marshfield Man in Custody Due to Connection With Murder

-A 20-year-old Marshfield man is in custody due to his connection with the death of a Marshfield woman on Friday night.The man turned himself into the Wisconsin Rapids Police early Saturday morning. They are not releasing the man?s name at this time.
According to a press release, Maisie McCullough?s body was found at a residence on East Blodgett Street just after 10 on Friday.
McCullough?s throat had been slit and she had been stabbed in the back. The coroner, after the autopsy, said that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the incident.
A Wisconsin Rapids officer said that the father of McCullough?s 2-year-old son, Gabriel Campos, turned himself into the police and they have confirmed that he is the suspect in the murders. The child is okay.
The police are not commenting on any motive regarding the murder, but did say there is no threat to the public and there are no other suspects.
The investigation continues.
