Wisconsin Natives Make Waves With the Found Footage Festival

Monday, September 10th, 2012 -- 8:35 AM

-A couple of local boys are making waves with their found footage festival.

Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher have been collecting footage from old VHS tapes for many years now. Joe said that it all started with a McDonald?s training video.

"It started when Nick and I were in High School. Nick found a training video for McDonald's. You know how training videos are. They're just painful to watch because people are excited about cleaning the bathroom. We just fell in love with this thing."

Joe said that the footage is simple enough to find since VHS is no longer the format of choice.

"VHS just litters the shelves in thrift stores and nobody wants them because people don't even have VHS players anymore. You can pick these up for .25 cents."

Even with all the footage Joe has seen, he does have a series of favorites.

"It's a serires of on the job accident training videos from a company. They reeanact accidents that can occur on the job. It's not meant to be funny, but they're hilarious."

Joe and Nick are currently on their Volume 6 Found Footage Tour and they?ll hit all 50 states before the tour is over.
