CNRED Agent Conducts Community Needs Assessment

-The Clark County UW-Extension recently hired an Interim CNRED Educator to help identify the needs of not only the City of Neillsville, but all of Clark County.Amy Jahnke, is the Interim Community, Natural Resources, and Economic Development Educator, or CNRED agent, and she is charged with conducting a community needs assessment.
Amy has recently held two focus groups with community and business leaders in Neillsville to brainstorm community resource development needs. She will conduct several more focus groups and surveys in other communities in the county in the upcoming weeks.
Two of the top needs identified were: visioning and strategic planning guidance for community, natural resources and economic development, as well as facilitating collaboration and communication among organizations.
This information will be used in the future to guide development of educational programs that could be administered by a UW-Extension CNRED Educator in Clark County.
