Second Home Invasion Suspect Sentenced
Friday, August 31st, 2012 -- 8:12 AM
-The second suspect involved in the home invasion that occurred in early February, here in Neillsville, has been sentenced.Robert Stargardt was an accomplice with Alexander Lee when they broke into the home of Lance Poeschel and viciously attacked him with a pipe and bat.
Judge Jon Counsell posed the question regarding why Stargardt shouldn?t get the same punishment as Alexander Lee who was sentenced to 10 years in prison earlier this month. Both attorneys agreed that, though it doesn?t excuse his behavior, Stargardt was following Lee out of some ?twisted loyalty? and that he shows true remorse for his actions.
Stargardt read a letter of apology to the victim. Lance Poeschel believed that Stargardt meant his apology and told him that he needs to change.
In the end, the judge sentenced him to a total of seven years in prison and six years extended supervision.
