Storm Shelter for Park Place Mobile Homes
Thursday, August 30th, 2012 -- 10:38 AM
-The Neillsville City Council picked a contractor to start on the Storm Shelter Project for the Park Place Mobile Homes. The project will build an emergency storm shelter, to FEMA standards, for citizens, that live in the mobile home, to use. The shelter will be built by Tesmer Construction of Neillsville.
The building will be a concrete structure that citizens can stay in to ride out a storm.
The building would have no windows, but there would be ventilation, it would be hooked up to gas and electricity, there would be an emergency generator for the shelter, and a door that could be open by key or a device from the courthouse.
There would be no cost to the city regarding the shelter. Federal, FEMA, and State, Wisconsin Emergency Management, dollars will help pay for the cost. The rest of the money will come from the owners of the park, the Tarcsays?.
The project would be started in mid-September and finished by November.
