Forestry and Parks Discuss Clark County Trail System
Wednesday, August 29th, 2012 -- 9:54 AM
-The future of the Knobby Ridge Trail system was discussed on Monday. The Forestry and Parks Committee, volunteers of the Knobby Ridge Trail Ride Club, and Clark County citizens met to discuss how to conduct maintenance and trail rehabilitation on the Knobby Ridge Trails.
They discussed where they are with the system now, how they got there, and where they would like to go from here.
It was made especially clear that the club needs organized volunteers and commitment to get the trails fixed back to riding condition.
Organization of how the work will get done was discussed and work dates were planned as well.
The members decided on four key elements regarding the future of the trails. They must be organized, have a plan on how to fix the trails, how to pay for the work, and how to organize the volunteers and equipment.
Those that attended the meeting voiced their support for the trail system and realize that the system could be closed if progress isn?t made.
The subject will be discussed again during the Forestry and Parks Committee meeting in September.
