Lightning Destroys Black River Falls Home

-A lightning strike started a fire in a Black River Falls home on Friday.The Black River Falls fire department was called shortly after 6am when a nearby resident of the home reported smoke and flames above the tree tops.
When firefighters arrived, the 1.5 story log home was completely consumed by flames.
The home and everything inside was a complete loss. The estimated cost of the damage is more than $210,000.
The owners, Daniel and Rebecca Deetz of La Crosse, used the home as a cabin and they were not there at the time of the fire.
