Greenwood School District's New Renovations
Monday, August 27th, 2012 -- 8:51 AM
-The Greenwood School District has been renovated.More specifically, the Elementary has had some major renovations done.
Back in June, a vicious windstorm tore off about one third of the elementary?s rubber membrane roof. The rain also caused some interior damage to the ceiling tiles, walls, and floor.
As the damage to the tiling in that area was extensive, the decision was made to replace all the ceiling tiles as well as the carpeting on the floor because it was worn out in many spots and would need to be replaced soon anyway.
The total of the project came to $117,090 dollars, but the school?s insurance covered a large portion of the cost. The district?s share will be $49,020 dollars.
However, Superintendent Jennifer Vogler said that, ?the building is beautiful.?
Greenwood residents will have an opportunity to see the new renovations during Greenwood?s open house on August 29th.
