Weiler Convenience Stores in Marshfield are selling specially designed t-shirts to raise funds for Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS).

"We wanted to help support MAPS during kitten season, as there are so many cats being born this time of year," said Wayne and Kelly Weiler, owners. "Our t-shirt fundraiser has been a great success in the past and we wanted to bring it back again."

Typically lasting between the months of April and October, "kitten season" is when the majority of cats are giving birth - averaging 3-8 kittens per litter and having as many as 2-5 liters per season. Shelters are especially in need of support during this time period.\

Kelly said that being locally-owned, she enjoys giving back to the community where she lives and works. "We're part of this community and want to help where we can," she said. "Many of our team members have rescued animals, so the cause holds a special place in our hearts."

Featuring a wide variety of modern colors and the slogan "Be Kind to All Kinds," the shirts were designed and printed locally. All funds raised will go directly to the rescue, with Weiler's having donated all costs of the shirts.

T-Shirts ($18), long-sleeved ($22), crewneck sweatshirt ($35), and hoodies ($40), as well as youth t-shirts ($15) are available while products last. Shop early for the best color selection.

"We're so grateful to Weiler's and the community for always supporting our animals in need. They are always there for us and we appreciate it," said Karen Rau, MAPS Executive Director.

"All funds will go towards fueling our life-saving mission, which we couldn't do without this support. This time of year, we intake many homeless kittens. We encourage everyone to spay and neuter."

Visit one of the three locally-owned Weiler locations at 600 N Central Ave, 2401 E 4th St, and 2005 N Central Ave to purchase a shirt for a life-saving cause. Located in Marshfield, Wisconsin, the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal welfare organization serving the greater Marshfield area.

Since 2011, they have helped thousands of animals find forever homes. Learn more at www.MarshfieldPetShelter.org.
