Loyal School Board and Residents Approve Tax Levy at Annual Meeting

-The Loyal School Board, as well as community members, approved the tax levy at the district?s annual meeting on Monday evening.The board and Loyal residents approved two levies, one in case the referendum passes and another if it does not pass. The Loyal School District will have a referendum on the November 4th ballot asking for $195,000 for the 2014-2015 school year for building maintenance and $395,000 for the 2015-2016 school year through the 2018-2019 school year for the purpose of school operational expenses. It is a non-recurring referendum.
Should the referendum pass, the Loyal School District will have a tax levy of $1,722,100 and the Mill Rate would be 9.72. If it does not pass, the tax levy will be $1,527,100 and the Mill Rate will be 8.62.
The board salaries were also approved and will remain the same as the previous year and the next annual meeting was set for September 14th of 2015.
