-The Granton Village Board discussed the care costs for Romadka Avenue at their meeting on Wednesday.

According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the board first elected some officers, but then discussed Romadka Avenue. The boundary road between the Village of Granton and the Town of Grant is Romadka Ave. The Town of Grant grades the shared 1 mile stretch and bills the village for this service. The village has concerns as the Town of Grant has arbitrarily increased the costs for the care of the boundary road each year. Costs have risen from $800 to $1,500 over the past 4 years. The bill does not indicate how many hours the village is being charged or what the rate is. The village also plows, salts and sands Romadka.

The Grant Chairman pointed out that Grant takes care of 90% of care and that the charge also includes the care of Granton Road and brush cutting. The board discussed the fairest way to bill would be to keep track of the time spent caring for the road and bill appropriately. The Grant chairman will discuss the bill at their next board meeting. Also, the Granton Public School requested the village rescind the Truancy Ordinance to allow Clark County the ability to handle the truancy issue at the school. The board approved rescinding the ordinance.
