(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Plover man facing multiple counts of possessing child pornography has been scheduled for a plea and sentencing hearing this spring.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Hayden Witzel-Marr was facing trial for five counts of possessing child pornography and a sixth count of producing child sexual exploitation materials.
However, court records indicate he now faces a plea and sentencing hearing on April 3rd. He was arrested last summer after a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children task force indicated his IP address may be tied to a child porn ring.
Officers confronted him with a search warrant in late August when he admitted to receiving and distributing images of children between the ages of six and 12.
Officers immediately jailed him. He was later released on a $2,500 cash bond under the condition that he remain at his mother’s house and have no access to the internet, including through gaming devices.
The 21-year-old pled not guilty to the charges back in November. He faces more than 150 years in prison on all counts.
