The Green Bay Packers surprised the Marshfield High School athletic program with a $2,500 check this (Wednesday) morning.

On Focus reports that in a ceremony at Marshfield High School, former Packers players drove home a message on the importance of perseverance in pursuing goals despite obstacles.

Former players Scott Wells, Earl Dotson, Aaron Kampman, Nick Barnett, Ryan Grant and Bernardo Harris are traveling in a custom-wrapped motor coach for the Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour. Since Tuesday, they have made a series of stops in Marshfield including the Children’s Hospital visiting patients and a tailgate party benefiting PDC Orenda Center.

The donation comes the same day as an groundbreaking ceremony for the athletic facility at Marshfield High School.

The players will move onto Sparta later (Wednesday) today.
