The Neillsville girls basket ball team improved to 3-0 in Eastern Cloverbelt Conference play after a 42-25 win over Loyal on Tuesday night in Loyal.

The Warriors got out to an 8-0 lead, thanks to Samantha Cappadora who scored all 8 early points. Neillsville took a 19-3 lead into the locker room at the half, led by Cappadora's 9 points.

Loyal was able to get the ball in the hoop in the second half, but the large halftime deficit was too much to overcome. Neillsville only outscored the Hounds in the second half 23-22 as the Warriors struggled from the freethrow line, hitting on just 2 of 10 in the half and only 7 of 20 in the game.

Cappadora led all scorers with a game high 11 points, Lauren Mesar added 10. Remi Geiger led the Greyhounds with 8 points, all in the second half.

Neillsville improves to 4-0 overall and will host Owen-Withee next Tuesday. Loyal falls to 1-2 in the ECC and 1-4 overall. They will be at Colby on Friday night.
