TPA DEAD

Seven senate republicans sided with democrats in killing an effort to limit government spending by amending the constitution. Final vote to kill TPA was 20-12.
The Taxpayers Protection Act sponsor, Senator Glen Grothman (R-West Bend) says the problem of high taxes isn't going away and he'll keep trying to do something about it.
Our area state senators split on the issue. Ron Brown (R-Eau Claire) voted against the TPA; Sen. Dave Zien (R-Wheaton) voted in favor of the measure.
