Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

A car accident in Marshfield yesterday caused a grass fire and cut power to the Marshfield Clinic for a couple hours Monday.

The Marshfield News Herald reports a car ran off McMillan Street, broke off a power pole and flipped on its roof at around 1:24 p.m.

The driver and passenger both wound up in the hospital, but were listed in fair condition yesterday, the paper reports.

The grass fire was on city property along the west edge of the McMillan Substation. Power was restored to the neighborhood by 3:30 p.m.

Authorities say speed may have contributed to the crash.
