A local Cub Scout pack is hoping to collect plenty of non-perishable food items tomorrow. Shelly Schmitz, the Cubmaster for Pack 43, says blue bags with instructions were left at homes around Neillsville last week, Cub Scouts will return to the streets Saturday morning.

“The District is sponsoring a food drive. The boys are going out on Saturday morning to collect the bags we distributed last weekend – hopefully full of food,” Schmitz explains. “We’ll be donating that food to the Neillsville Food Pantry.”

The bags can be filled with donations of non-perishable food items. The Pack’s 20-25, 1st through 4th-graders seem to be enjoying the chance to help the local food pantry.

“They enjoyed hanging the bags and they’ll get a lot out of seeing what people do when you ask them to help the community,” Schmitz says.

If you didn’t receive a bag – or misplaced it – you can call Shelly at 743-3358 and they’ll bring you one. The Pack will drop off their donation on Tuesday.
