Thorp Man Makes Initial Appearance for Sex Charges

-A Thorp man accused of having sex with an underage girl made an appearance in Clark County Court on Thursday.
Scott Bergman, 44 of Thorp, was an assistant track coach at the Thorp School District and has been accused of having sex with a 17 year old student last November.
Bergman has one felony charge of sexual assault of student by school staff and two misdemeanor counts of sex with a child age 16 or over filed against him.
Bergman cannot have any contact with his victim and his contract was not renewed by the Thorp School District in December. He’s also banned from any activity involving Thorp students.
Bergman’s attorney waived the reading of the complaint as well as a preliminary hearing. His 2000 dollar bond will continue and he’ll appear in court again in March.
