Stanley Prison Inmate Found Not Guilty for Battery

-A Stanley Prison inmate was found not guilty of two charges of battery by prisoner.
In April of last year, Vern Stone hit a guard searching his cell with a TV cable and the guard was hurt while blocking the cable with his hands.
Stone’s attorney entered a plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect to both charges in Chippewa County Court on Thursday.
The judge decided the Stone should receive treatment, but that won’t occur until after he finishes his 10 year sentence on a separate conviction.
