House Fire Near Colby

-There was a house fire along Highway N in the Town of Frankfort near Colby on Tuesday.
The family woke up smelling smoke, saw flames shooting from the air ducts, and immediately evacuated the home.
The Abbotsford, Colby, and Dorchester Fire Departments responded to the scene and were able to contain the fire which had started near the wood stove in the basement. Unfortunately, the heavy winds on Tuesday caused the fire to spread throughout the ducts in the house.
The house is being called a total loss and the family is staying with relation in the area. The Red Cross has provided food, clothing, and other items to the family.
