Thorp Coach Charged with Sex With a Minor

-A Clark County man has been arrested for allegedly having sex with an underage girl.
Scott Bergman, 44 of Thorp, was an assistant track coach at the Thorp School District and has been accused of having sex with a 17 year old student last November.
Bergman appeared in court on Friday for a bail hearing. He has one felony charge of sexual assault of student by school staff and two misdemeanor counts of sex with a child age 16 or over filed against him.
Bergman cannot have any contact with his victim and his contract was not renewed by the Thorp School District in December. He’s also banned from any activity involving Thorp students.
A 2000 dollar cash bond was set against Bergman and he will appear in court again on Thursday for an initial appearance. He could serve six years in prison for the felony charge.
