Neillsville Girls BB Clinch 8th Straight ECC Title

With their 70-31 win over Loyal on Tuesday night, the Neillsville Warrior girls basketball team has clinched their 8th straight Eastern Cloverbelt Conference title.
Neillsville, now 16-0 in the conference and 19-0 overall, was in a close game in the first quarter on Tuesday with the Greyhounds as they led by just two at 13-11. The Warriors then outscored Loyal 22-8 in the second quarter to take a 35-19 lead into the locker room. Neillsville was 8 for 8 from the freethrow line in the quarter.
Neillsville came out strong in the third quarter, outscoring Loyal 19-5, to take a 54-24 lead into the final frame. In the fourth Neillsville was led by Taylor Gleisner off the bench with 5 points and the Warriors had a 16-7 advantage to make the final 70-31. Jenny Lindner led all scorers with 25 pts.
Neillsville won their 50th straight ECC game and their 47th in a row over the last two seasons. Next up is Augusta at the Fieldhouse on Friday night.
